ACS launches the new ACR1281U-C1 DualBoost II reader supporting contactless and contact smart card technologies

(ACS, wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd., SEHK: 8210), Asia Pacific’s top supplier and one of the world’s top 3 suppliers of PC-linked smart card readers (Source: Frost & Sullivan), today launches its ACR1281U-C1 DualBoost II Dual-interface Smart Card Reader , an upgrade of the ACR128 DualBoost. This new reader supports not only the 13.56 MHz ISO 14443 contactless technology, but also the ISO 7816 contact card specification.

ACR1281U-C1 DualBoost II is designed for superior compatibility with existing and future systems. It supports ISO 7816 contact and ISO 14443 Type A and B contactless card standards, as well as Mifare Classic, Mifare Plus and DESFire EV1 cards. It has a built-in Secure Access Module (SAM) slot for enhanced security in contact and contactless card operations. With its intelligent support for hybrid and combi cards, it can detect a contactless card that has been erroneously inserted in the contact card slot. Its PC/SC (Personal Computer/Smart Card) compliance for all contact, contactless and SAM interfaces allows for flexible integration in various platforms and systems. Likewise, with additional features such as firmware upgradability and extended APDU support, the ACR1281U-C1 enables operators easily to implement or upgrade a wide range of smart card applications.
