Organized by Terrapinn, Cards Asia 2010 is the 15th annual celebration of Asia’s leading smart cards event. It focuses on the theme, “Capturing the tremendous potential of payments in the world’s most important region,” and has enlisted the attendance of over 250 leading solution providers and over 60 high level speakers. ACS aligns itself with the exhibition’s theme by showcasing products that support CEPAS, Singapore’s specification for electronic money smart cards being used for public transportation and micro-payment at retails shops, vending machines and so on. One of the highlighted products is the ACR122U reader, which is being used by CEPAS cardholders at home for checking their card balances and doing online shopping.

” Mobile payment, along with transportation, is perhaps the most common sector where NFC applications have experienced growth in terms of commercial deployments. It is a very important market for NFC, particularly in Asia where developing countries are gradually seeing the viability and convenience of automated mobile payment solutions,” ACS Executive Director and Chief Technical Officer Mr. Keng Boon Tan, who spearheads the ACS exhibiting team, comments. ” This event is an important avenue for players in the Asian industry to share innovative technologies and solutions for the advancement of full scale NFC deployments. We at ACS contribute our expertise to this initiative by showcasing our NFC products that have been proven for their reliability and competence in mass NFC applications.”
