Eric Lee, Engineering Manager of ACSHONG KONG, 2 Feb, 2010 – Advanced Card Systems Ltd. (ACS, wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Card Systems Holdings Ltd., SEHK: 8210), Asia Pacific’s number one supplier of PC-linked smart card readers, participated in The Second Cross Strait Railway Conference held on January 15-16, 2010, at the Macau Fisherman’s Wharf, Macau. ACS Engineering Manager, Mr. Eric Lee (picture on the left), represented the company by giving a brief lecture on smart card readers and terminals for the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC).

Eric began the discussion with a background on the AFC system, introducing its building blocks and relevant hardware. He also emphasized the advantages of integrating the Automated Fare Collections System with the smart card technology offered by ACS, and further elaborated its applications outside the landscape of transportation. Concluding his presentation, he said that with the use of good and secure smart card readers and terminals, and the integration of proper SAM, AFC applications could now extend beyond the scope of transportation. He further stated that the availability of high performance 32-bit terminal hardware in ACS products like ACR300 Bus Validator , ACR880 Mobile Ticketing Terminal and eH880 Secure Reloading Terminal; and ACOS7 Dual-interface Smart Card, enabled application implementation with much lower cost without compromising reliability and security.
